Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation Sustainable Schools Project is a dynamic model for school improvement and civic engagement designed to help schools use sustainability as an integrating context for curriculum, community partnerships and campus practices.

Educating for Sustainability is learning that links knowledge, inquiry, and action to help students build a healthy future for their communities and the planet.

Our programs to date include providing solar panels to our schools to offset hydro costs and potential income (selling back to the grid).  We are also embarking on a farming program where by students will learn science through farming. Parents will assist with farming the school’s land to grow produce which will then be used for school lunches and sold locally to raise funds to purchase school supplies.
